Runnababez Run Go! Halloween Races

24 Oct

Several Runnababez ran at the Go! Halloween Races, this past weekend which featured distances of 5k,10k, and Half-Marathon.  The Go! Halloween races are known for the big local regional competition, in which all the areas best runners show up.  Almost each distance was represented by a Runnababe!

Amanda Houston ran in the 5k, placing 1st in her age-group, 5th woman overall.  This was her first race post-partum.  Also, her first race in three years!  Awesome run for first one back!

Lauren Hubbard continuing on her comeback streak also won her age-group in the 5k, placing as the 16th woman overall on very minimal training so far. Even Lauren’s daughter ran, and also…won her age-group! Lots of natural talent in those Hubbard girls!

Lisa Cary also continuing her post-partum racing comeback progress  attempted to do her longest race in a year, competing in the 10k.  She placed 12th woman overall, and 4th in her age-group.

The Runnababez were blazing around town that was for certain!

Lisa Wins 5k

17 Oct

Lisa participated in the Celebration Life 5k, for Mid-America Transplant honoring those who have donated organs.  The race took place in Forest Park this past weekend.  She ran this race as a part of a team supporting and in remembrance of Blake Stabler, the brother of her good friend Katie Boes.  The team name in honor of Blake was #BlakesBeautifulHeart.

Lisa held off the second place lady by being reminded by Tim, “To run hard for Blake!”  She gave a final push, and finished as first female overall in 20:20 knocking off 30 seconds from her 5k time a few weeks ago.
